For this week session, our lecturer has assigned us to do some observation in our campus, which show that IIUM as a sustainable campus. After a small discussion with the group members, we found that SHAS Mosque is the perfect place to be observe and reflect. It is the place that promotes SDG 17, where the Muslims go to the mosque to perform Ibadah, at the same time strengthen the unity with another Muslims. Therefore, we divided this sustainability into three main ideas.

First, mosque brings together people from diverse backgrounds, fostering a sense of community and mutual understanding. This aligns with SDG 17, that emphasis on building partnerships across sectors, cultures and nations. This inclusive atmosphere can encourages dialogues on shared responsibilities for sustainable development.

Second, SHAS Mosque also emphasizes Islamic principles of cooperation, justice and stewardship of resources, which resonate with SDG 17, that call for collective global efforts. Reflection within this spiritual environment can connects faith- based motivations with practical actions for achieving sustainability goals.

Lastly, as part of IIUM, mosque is closely linked with various academic initiatives that focusing on sustainability and interfaith cooperation. This opportunities can promote awareness and collaboration on SDG 17, at the same time can encourage partnerships between academia, communities and global networks.
